Today, our last full day, has been good. We drove down and snorkeled at Scott’s Head on the southern tip of the island, then rented a two person sea kayak and paddled up to Champagne Reef. We both saw sea tortoises at Scott’s Head. The area on the south part of the island was really nice; we liked it. Kayaking was fun and I enjoyed the snorkeling.
It’s hard to leave. Probably why I don’t feel like writing much. But, we’ve just about packed up, we’ve said good bye to Jean and Tiana, and we’re ready to see the girls. The travel home will be long, but more chance to read and relax.
I haven’t written about one cool part of this adventure-Ron is still gone, doing his part as a deck hand extra on the Black Pearl! Yesterday was his training day; they learned to sail the boat, raise the sails, and tie knots. Some master mariner guy taught them everything. He’s an “expert” and has written a book on old sailing techniques. It will be fun to see the movies and watch for Ron.
Maybe I’ll be more reflective on the plane. Probably not; I’m dying to finish the Brothers Karamozov.
