  1. Thanks for this message today. It did indeed zero in on the age-old question, “Why does bad stuff happen to good people?” I’m here to testify that during a pretty tumultous time in my life God was faithful…and when I was beginning to take pauses from my rantings/bawling/broken experiences, it seemed apparent that He was there watching…waiting for me to take a breath long enough for Him to simply speak my name.

  2. The Jesus pep club. Yes, this names one of the things that have scared me off from Christianity.

But then Jesus stepped up and called my name, and I was dumbfounded. I’m still figuring out how to respond.

But your explanation of the story of Mary helps me to feel less afraid.

Me. From Most Likely to Succeed to unemployed religious fanatic in only 20 years. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m not sure what to say at my reunion this summer. Is this truly success? Maybe another 20 years will tell.

  3. Robin, I actually thought of you and your story about the stained glass window as I wrote. I hope at your reunion people will recognize a person who knows herself and has found a meaningful life. That counts as success in my book!

Rumor has it, I was in the running for most likely to succeed, to be partnered with my good friend Theresa Klosterman Deibele. But then the picture was taken, and all visions of success vanished. ๐Ÿ˜‰
